Isn’t it profound how as believers in Christ many hide behind the Word of God while not living it? There is possibly nothing more dangerous that we could do.
There isn’t a time that we speak the Word of God, especially in judgement, that we aren’t required to be right with it also.
Imagine a thief bringing a thief to the judge, imagine a murderer accusing another murderer before a righteous judge, asking for their punishment.
We often forget, that Jesus said not to attempt to take the speck from our brother’s eye, while we have a plank in ours.
In the event it’s in your mind that I’m venting I’m not, no one has accused me of anything (at least not that I’m aware of). I only want to encourage us to be wise when we wield the Word of God, remember it is sharper than any two-edged sword, if we don’t use it well, the very Word which empowers, us will cut us to pieces.
Every weapon requires skill to use it, for every weapon there is instruction. I plead with us brothers and sisters in Christ, YES pray to God, YES use His Word while doing so, YES judge situations based on His Word, but please do not call for the judgement of others.
It is difficult to accuse men while taking the form of a man and be presented innocently before a Holy God.
Many times its the judgement that we call forth on others that we end up receiving through our unrighteous living.
We have been given grace and love through Christ unless God asks us to judge in love, then I suggest we take Christ’s advice and forgive then bless those who appear as enemies and seek to do us harm.
When we do make judgements, we must be well aware that with the measure by which we judge it too shall be returned unto us also. (Matthew 7:2)
